Facebook storage change jeopardizes published live videos
Your published live videos on Facebook could be in jeopardy.
Meta recently announced a change in how live videos will be stored. As a result, videos will now be automatically removed 30 days after they are published.
Previously, live videos remained indefinitely on the Facebook Page or profile where they were published. Now, you only have a 30-day window to share replays and clips.
According to Meta, users will have the one-time option to temporarily postpone the deletion of published live videos.
“We are providing the option to defer deletion for an additional six months. After that period, if you do not make a choice, your old live videos will be removed and will no longer be available,” states Meta.
There are several ways videos can be saved within the six months, and moving forward within the 30-day period.
One of the options is downloading published live videos. This action ranges from creating a single file for all published live videos to saving individual videos.
If you want to preserve only the highlights, a video can be converted into a reel. The shortened segments are perfect for clipping and sharing your favorite moments.
